Result | Win for Swanage by 43 runs |
Swanage won the toss and decided to bat first. This was not a surprise to us after being told that they had been well beaten in friendlies so far this season. Harry soon broke through and we had them at 15 runs for the first wicket. Swanage went on to score 228 with the loss of only the one wicket after two of their batsmen had retired on usefull scores not before both having been dropped in consecutive balls by one of our fielders. After tea we set about their score but could not quite manage to keep up with the required run rate even though Sam (40) Craig (20) Lawrence (27) Paul H (23) and Trevor (16 no) all chipped in with usefull runs. A big mention must go to youngster Alfie (53) who scored his first maiden century for the club in fine style and to Bradley H who had his first bat for the club and ended up 1 no. A big thanks again to all our supporters that came along considering the cold conditions with occasional rain. Roll on next week at Burley next Sunday 2 oclock start. |
